School Rules

GENERAL RULES / INSTRUCTIONS / GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS

  1. Students are expected to join school on the notified date at the beginning of the session.
  2. Every student should wear his/her identity card daily.
  3. Non-bus commuters should arrive at the school 10 minutes before the assembly.
  4. Attendance on all national festival days and school function is mandatory for all students.
  5. Students are advised to form a habit of reading the school notice board daily to update theirawareness about school events.
  6. The bell before assembly is a call for all to go the ground. Students should reach the assemblyground promptly and in silence.
  7. Each students will be assigned a seat in his/her class which cannot be changed at his/her ownwill. For this prior permission is to be sought from class teacher.
  8. Students are expected to observe decorum in their behavior in and outside the school as itreflects on the image of the school.
    a) They should observe polite manners wherever they go.
    b) They should always be friendly with others in all circumstance.
  9. Students must take care of their belongings like books, money, clothes etc. Anything left by the students in the school shall be deposited at the school office as lost property which will begiven back to the owner only if properly claimed. However, the school is not responsible forany such loss.
  10. Students should desist from undesirable behavior like whistling, shouting or running in thecorridors while in school.
  11. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms.
  12. School property like furniture, walls etc. should not be defaced/destroyed. The culprit will have to pay for the cost of damage item including a fine.
  13. Student are not allowed to wear jewelry, expensive watches, bracelets etc. in the school incase of loss, strict disciplinary action will be initiated against erring students. The school shallnot be held responsible for any loss thus incurred.
  14. Waste paper, fruit etc. must be thrown only in the waste paper bins, students should to keep the school premises clean.
  15. Books other than textbooks or library books should not be brought to school.
  16. Use of scooter/motorbike is strictly prohibited.
  17. No student should indulge in any of the following practices
  18. a) Rowdism and rude behavior
  19. b) Use of violence in any from
  20. c) Casteism, communalism or practice of untouchability
  21. Any breach of decency or any action which is likely to lower the image of the school isregarded as breach of discipline.
  22. The school reserves the right to expel any student whose progress in studies is consideredunsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to the school atmosphere. Immorality, contempt of Authority is some of the reasons for immediate expulsion or rustication.
  23. Attendance on the first and last working day of every term is compulsory. Parents arerequested to plan their vacations in accordance with the almanac.
  24. Parents should fill in the “record for non-attendance for absence up to 2 days. if the studentsis absent from school for a longer period, a leave application addressed to the principal, is tobe submitted to the respective class teacher. Medical certificate is compulsory in case ofillness of 3 days or more, please not that if a student’s join the school after his/her absence,without a proper leave note duly signed by his/her parents, he/she will not be allowed toresume classes. Attendance is compulsory on certain days of the academic year viz:
    a) Non-instructional activity days like teacher’s Day, Children’s Day.
    b) A fortnight before the end of a term and at the start of a new term.
    c) Extra classes whenever required, implies that the attendance becomes compulsory forsuch classes.

GUIDELINES / RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS

  1. Read the contents of the diary carefully and abide by the rules laid by the school Authorities. It is also desired that the parents/guardians tell about the contents of thediary to their wards. Ignorance of this will not be accepted an excuse.
  2. Parents should see to it that their ward’s name, class and section are clearly marked onhis/her belongings, e.g. water bottle, bag blazers, umbrella, etc.
  3. Students when sick should not be sent to school under intimation on the schoolauthorities.
  4. Student should come to school in proper uniform on all working days and for all the school functions. Students who are not in proper uniform well not be allowed to enter their classroom.
  5. Parents are requested to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their wardsprogress by paying attention to his/her regularity, punctuality and discipline.
  6. Distribution of gift like toffee and sweetmeats etc. of my any sort as prohibited even onspecial occasions.
  7. Offering gifts or presenting any articles to teacher/staff is strictly prohibited
  8. Parents are requested not to enter classroom to see their children or teacher during classhours.
  9. Parents attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of teacher or school in the presence of their ward should be scrupulously avoided.
  10. Parents should sign the report card of their wards and return it within 3 days of receipt of thereport card. Parents should acknowledge the receipt of the report card through the diary, if the card is lost, a replacement will be made available on payment of Rs. 50/-only.
  11. Restrict daily pocket money. Excessive spending should be discouraged.
  12. All students are expected to speak only in English while in school. we requested theparents to do so at home as well.
  13. Parents are advised to be conscious of the fact that the school is actually a supplement to thehome and not its substitute. Parents are requested to extend co-operation to the school inall matters concerning their wards.
  14. Parents must ensure that their wards do not carry any electronics articles such as mobilephone, pager, camera, Walkman, transistor, etc. to the school. Possession of such items by the students in the school is treated an offence.

SCHOOL RULES – ABSENCE

  1. A student who is absent from the school must send an application on a proper sizepaper/blank sheet either in advance or the same day through any source. Applicationreceived the next day or thereafter will not be entertained.
  2. Leave application should be neatly written by the student, signed by the his/her parents aswell as the student and also the leave application from in the diary should be filled.
  3. In case, a child remains at home without any proper intimation, a fine of Rs.5 (Rs. five only)per day well be realized along with his/her monthly fees.
  4. A student who falls sick must send application on every first day itself and on rejoining the school must bring a medical-cum-fitness certificate from his/her attending doctor in case he remains on medical leave for more than three days.
  5. A student suffering from any of the following disease must observe the prescribed period ofquarantine before returning to school.
    a) Chickenpox: All lesion are crusted
    b) Measles: For 4 days after swelling
    c) Mumps: For 9 days after swelling
    d) Whooping cough: For 7 days after effective antibiotic therapy
    e) Jaundice: Till full recovery, declared fit with a fitness certificate fromtreating physician
  6. Reported absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than five consecutive daysmakes the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Readmission may begranted only by the principal who may direct the parents to submit admission fee.
  7. It is compulsory for all students to maintain at last 85% attendance during the academicsession to enable them to take the annual examination. The percentage, however, could berelaxed on medical grounds subject to a maximum of 25% i.e. attendance must not be less than 75% in any case. A special certificate will be awarded to student with 100% attendance.
